A Tribute to the Setting Sun

You shine and smile on all alike,
Everyday as you rise anew,
And when it is time, graciously withdraw,
Leaving behind your dreamy hue.

You stop not for your audience,
But perform and pass us by,
You ask not for our applause
Nor seek our enthralled cry.

Don’t you wonder that you burn out,
Or waste your colours here
There must be deservers somewhere else,
To whom your beauty will be more dear.

Yet you shine and paint our sky,
Giving all nothing you ask
Seem to have within you all you need,
O Sun, Yours is the noblest task.
